Maybe I can tackle this problem if someone gives me a clue where changes could be made in the code. I am learning programming and I am so happy to discover the repo on github. Stuff like this is way more important than picking a cooler default font in my opinion. Has anyone found a workaround for this sort of thing? I have dealt with it before. Oddly, the new version of Musescore (alpha) seems to lack the ability to simply delete measures This is a real show-stopper. Does any contributor want to comment why this behavior is happening? I switch it back and it is back the way it started. I go into format>page settings and change increase the "staff space" (vertical height of each staff) which causes the piece to extend onto two pages again. I press and hold shift+[ again and it goes back to that way it was, on one page and with the 4th system having only one measure. I press shift+] to expand the whole piece onto two pages, and that works as expected. I select all and press shift+[ and nothing happens. I select that measure and press shift+[ and nothing happens. The 4th system only has one measure with eight eighth-notes occupying the entire line. Every system has 14 bars except the 4th system. To change the number of measures in MuseScore, open the Preferences dialog box, and under General click on Measures. The piece is 13 systems each containing two staves. Open Edit->Preferences (it might be MuseScore->Preferences on Mac) then in the shortcut tab find Remove Selected Range and define a shortcut. If there is nothing to the right of it then there is no shortcut defined. It's in 4/4, pretty much every measure is full of eighth notes. If you look at the delete selected range in the menu, to the right will be the shortcut. You can then change the number of measures in MuseScore by selecting a new value from the drop-down menu. Under the General tab, click on the Measurement button. MuseScore will confirm that you want to delete the measure. To change the number of measures in MuseScore, open the MuseScore menu and select Preferences. Click the Delete button next to the measure’s header. If revert to factory settings didn't work, you could try uninstall/reinstall, also check the Handbook under "Known incompatibilities".I have a flute duet that fits on one page. How do I delete multi measure rests in MuseScore To delete multi-measure rests in MuseScore, follow these steps: Select the measures you want to delete. Any annotations associated with it will be cleared. The measure will be removed from the Score window. Select the measure you want to delete and click on the Delete button. Just a note that since MuseScore 3 is still not released yet, I concur with the advice to focus on getting MsueScore 2 working rather than relying on these development builds of MuseScore 3 completely. Musescore How To Delete A Measure Best Answer: Open the Musescore window and click on the Measures tab. This applies to both MuseScore 2 and the development builds of what will eventually become MuseScore 3. Definitely worth spending some time with the documentation to learn more about what is available. One very obvious example is entering a rest, which is most easily done with the keyboard shortcut "0", but then there are also all the commands to transpose notes up or down (Up/Down keys, also with Ctrl or with Alt+Shift), to navigate within the score, etc. Quite a few things are only available via keyboard shortcut or other means (Palette, Inspector, a setting in a dialog, etc). if you already have created a score without a pickup measure, is to modify the first measure, by right clicking on it, then selecting 'measure properties'. 1/ Easiest way is to add one when you start a new score, just tick the checkbox and add the value: 2/ Another way, e.g. FWIW, if you are limiting yourself to only the commands you can find in the menus, you're missing quite a lot of the functionality of MuseScore. It's called an 'anacrusis' or pickup measure.
